Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications to patients.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and charting during procedures.
  • Assist in various interventional procedures.
  • Monitor patients for signs of infection or procedural side effects.
  • Track and record vital signs of patients.
  • Assess sedation levels during and post-procedure.
  • Prepare for emergency situations as necessary.
  • Conduct pre and post-catheterization examinations.
  • Participate in circulating and scrubbing during cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures.
  • Support diagnostic procedures as needed.
  • Ensure proper completion of consent forms.
  • Provide discharge education to patients and families regarding procedures, medications, activities, and dietary needs.
  • Prepare patients for upcoming procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care experience as an RN in a clinical environment.
  • Active RN license in the state of practice.
  • Current certifications as required by the facility.
  • Proficiency in cardiology nursing practices, including cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation.
  • Preferred knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and rhythm interpretation.
  • Cerner EMR experience is a plus.
