Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team as an Infant Learning Program (ILP) Specialist. As a key member of our Early Intervention team, you will provide essential speech language therapy services and family service coordination to eligible children and their families in the Kodiak Island Borough.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide speech language therapy services to children birth to three years of age, including identification of communication or language disorders and delays, referral for medical or other professional services, and provision of services for habilitation, rehabilitation, or prevention of communication or language disorders.
  • Offer families support and training to enhance their ability to support their child's development related to speech language development.
  • Serve as a Family Service Coordinator (FSC) for enrolled children, completing child and family intake forms, obtaining necessary medical history and therapy evaluation scripts, and facilitating the development of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  • Monitor delivery of services listed on the IFSP, coordinate EI/ILP services and other medical/social services, and assist parents in identifying additional resources and services.
  • Ensure timely review/revisions of the IFSP goals and services as necessary based on ongoing assessment of a child's development.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology, current certification or licensure, and one year of experience working with young children ages 0 to 5, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience working with different cultures preferred.
