Key ResponsibilitiesThe primary duties of this role include:
- Conducting in-depth analysis of extensive datasets to generate insightful reports for senior management and developing automation tools to enhance operational efficiency.
- Performing thorough research and synthesizing information from diverse sources, including internal data, model outputs, and market research, to evaluate the competitive landscape and assist in the creation of new environmental contracts and services.
- Formulating and evaluating risk management strategies for client portfolios, including the development of pricing and risk assessment models for both existing and new environmental derivative contracts.
- Addressing inquiries from internal stakeholders, such as senior management and the Board, as well as external parties, including clients and regulatory bodies, regarding exchange operations.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a keen attention to detail while possessing the ability to identify broader patterns and business logic to inform recommendations that support business development and risk management initiatives. A strong analytical mindset and quantitative skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of environmental markets, including carbon emissions and renewable energy certificates. Previous experience in financial risk management is advantageous.
QualificationsRequirements for this position include:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in quantitative finance, economics, statistics, applied mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in quantitative analytical roles, preferably within financial services.
- At least 2 years of experience in environmental markets.
- Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in a scripting language, such as Python or R.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and effective communication skills.
- A detail-oriented approach to work.
Additional qualifications that would be beneficial include:
- Experience with database queries and code-based analytics.
- Background in financial risk management.
The salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $180,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. Nodal Exchange also offers a comprehensive benefits package, which may include performance bonuses.
