The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a vital member of the healthcare team at Bon Secours Mercy Health, responsible for delivering exceptional patient care under the guidance of the Physician.
This role requires a skilled and compassionate individual who can provide direct basic nursing care in accordance with the LPN scope of practice, while also collaborating with physicians and other healthcare team members to meet patient/family needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and assess patients for provider visits, observing, recording, and reporting patient responses to medical care provided during appointments.
- Implement the plan of care by providing direct basic nursing care, labeling and packaging specimens as trained, and assisting in providing indirect care through various clerical or administrative duties as assigned by the registered nurse.
- Act as a chaperone for healthcare providers during patient examination as requested, and assist providers with procedures, treatments, and interventions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Active state Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure or LPN applicant.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
- One year of clinical patient care experience (preferred, not required).
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to all ages of patients.
- Ability to learn and use a computer-based patient appointment scheduling and registration system.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a team.
- Strong interpersonal communication and organization skills.
