Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Virginia Department of Human Resource Management. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for providing evidence-based nursing care to patients, administering medications, and providing first aid and basic life support as needed. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of nursing principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide evidence-based nursing care to patients
  • Administer medications and provide first aid and basic life support as needed
  • Maintain open lines of communication with security and treatment staff
  • Record all pertinent information into the medical record
  • Interface with other departments as needed
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Valid unrestricted Virginia Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) license
  • Working knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of practical or general nursing care
  • Demonstrated ability to screen complaints of physical ailments and refer necessary cases to other medical professionals
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a corrections or law enforcement environment
  • Experience or related training in delivery of general nursing and emergency medical care
