Key Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise the legal entity reporting divisions to guarantee timely and precise reporting and compliance submissions.
- Offer expertise in accounting and regulatory matters to support business growth initiatives, special projects, and strategic goals.
- Stay informed on the latest developments in statutory and U.S. GAAP reporting to ensure accurate and consistent representation in the legal entity financial reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to define and comprehend the objectives, aims, and missions of the legal entities. Grasp the products, business flow, accounting practices, and procedures related to both internal and external transactions within the legal entities.
- Lead initiatives with other functional areas to attain efficient, effective, and uniform accounting and reporting methodologies, ensuring robust controls.
- Oversee group capital activities.
- Manage the audit process with both external and internal auditors and handle regulatory assessments.
- Evaluate quarterly results, including explanations for variances from expectations.
- Facilitate planning and budgeting reviews at the legal entity level, providing relevant analyses.
- Engage in special projects as required.
Education and Experience
Education
- CPA certification is required.
- 12+ years of experience in accounting or auditing, with a background in dealing with auditors.
Essential:
- Proficient in basic Word, intermediate Excel, and SQL/Query skills.
- Advanced understanding of insurance accounting principles.
- Expertise in accounting and finance, including GAAP, statutory, and SEC regulations, with a strong ability to define and apply accounting standards.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex business terminology effectively.
- Highly developed investigative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Expertise in balancing detailed tasks with departmental objectives.
- Advanced skills in customer relationship management and change management.
- Strong capability to translate business needs and challenges into viable solutions.
- Expertise in managing multiple projects and/or teams concurrently.
- Ability to liaise effectively with individuals across diverse operational, functional, and technical areas.
- Highly developed persuasion and negotiation skills when engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
- Expertise in making timely and effective decisions, producing results through strategic planning and the execution and assessment of programs and policies.
- Advanced knowledge of general business practices.

The general pay range for this position is $143,245 - $243,445 per year. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. Additionally, RGA offers an annual bonus plan for all roles, and some positions may qualify for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan.
