Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in a school-based role. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for evaluating students with speech impairments, developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), and providing speech-language services to support student communication needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate students using standardized and non-standardized tests, clinical observations, and informal assessment tools to determine eligibility for special education as speech impaired.
  • Interpret evaluation data and write evaluation reports.
  • Participate in Annual IEP/MET meetings to review and interpret evaluation results, assist with placement decisions, and develop IEPs for students with communication disorders.
  • Provide speech-language services based on the IEP for identified speech impaired students.
  • Modify the IEP according to changing needs of the student.
  • Provide input on student's progress and consultation to parents, teachers, and other school staff regarding communication needs of students.
  • Continue professional development through attending workshops, reviewing literature, and collaboration with colleagues.
  • Maintain clinical and administrative records in accordance with local, State and Federal guidelines.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in speech-language pathology.
  • Valid state license or certification.
  • Experience with certain conditions or working with specific age groups may be preferred.
  • Strong understanding of speech-related conditions, causes, and treatments.
  • Excellent coaching and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, especially patient and healthcare databases.
  • Attentive and caring with the ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
Working Conditions

This position requires regular attendance and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Services are provided in person, on campus. Light lifting of materials and other objects associated with providing assessment and therapeutic interventions are required.
