Job Summary

UC San Diego Department of Psychiatry is seeking a highly skilled Sponsored Projects Fund Manager to provide pre-award and post-award support to Principal Investigators. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of research administration guidelines and be able to manage a significant volume of transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide fiscal management and financial analysis for sponsored projects
  • Develop and analyze budgets for research grants and contracts
  • Assist Principal Investigators with proposal submissions and financial management
  • Identify and resolve variances in financial data
  • Serve as Department ECERT coordinator and provide guidance on effort reporting compliance
  • Develop complex situational analyses for large multi-institutional research projects
  • Perform other duties as required
Requirements
  • Seven years of related experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus three years of experience
  • Thorough understanding of research administration guidelines and compliance requirements
  • Ability to manage a significant volume of transactions and perform complex financial analysis
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain independent judgment and work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • User-level knowledge of ESR Oracle Financial systems, UC Path, Kuali, or equivalent programs
Special Conditions
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check

Annual Full Pay Range: $67,200 - $119,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $32.18 - $57.28
