Job Description:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking a highly skilled Sales and Nutrition Representative to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for promoting and selling feed products and providing nutritional management services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and develop feed sales by providing exceptional customer service and building strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Regularly meet with customers to review feeding programs, feeds needed, and other opportunities to increase sales and revenue.
  • Understand on-farm terms and professional industry terms to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.
  • Calculate, measure, and collect data with accuracy to provide valuable insights to customers and the company.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders within the company and industry to identify customer needs and create products to satisfy those needs.
  • Be an effective problem solver and resourceful in finding solutions to complex issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and communicate this information to customers to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Basic knowledge of general nutrition, collect key indicators for the customer, and create a process map of goals and visions for the customer.
  • Generate and develop sales through increased tonnage and cold calling.
  • Enhance current knowledge on new feed, ration balancing, procedures, solutions, and resources by attending sales meetings and industry events.
  • Maintain professionalism, diplomacy, understanding, and courtesy to represent the company's feeds in good reputation.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Ag Business, Animal Science, Sales, or related field preferred.
  • Strong listening skills, strategic thinking skills, and a return on investment philosophy to help evaluate opportunities for customer profit.
  • Genuine, outgoing personality with care and concern for relationships that are fair, healthy, and solid for the company and customer.
  • Experience in feed, genetics, agricultural sales, or animal nutrition helpful.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to cold call on prospective customers.

Work Environment:

  • Regularly spend time on customer's/prospect's premises.
  • Regularly spend time driving a car.
  • Regularly spend time in home office, with an expectation of no more than 20% of the workday.
  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
