RF Design Engineer

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking an experienced RF Design Engineer to join our team of engineers and scientists within the RF & Intelligence Solutions Department.
The department's goals include comprehension, exploitation, and evaluation of foreign threats. We perform radio frequency (RF) design, custom hardware builds, algorithm development, and analysis across a variety of research and development and operational tasks.
The selected candidate will support projects for the DoD, Intelligence Community, and other Prime contractors.
Primary Responsibilities:- Evaluate, select, integrate, and test commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) RF devices for forming complex RF transceiver systems.
- Support the full product life cycle from concept through prototype to production.
- Bachelor's Degree from an ABET-accredited institute in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent applicable degree.
- 12+ years of relevant work history.
- 8+ years of prior work with RF electronics.
- Strong background in electronic design.
- Comprehensive understanding of RF transceiver system design and cascade analysis.
- Experience working with lab test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Understanding of fundamentals of antenna theory (types, designs, beam patterns, etc.).
- US citizenship with eligibility for TS clearance.
- Capability of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with a multidisciplinary team.
- Fundamental understanding of DSP concepts (matched filtering, coherent integration, etc.).
- Programming in at least one high-level language (MATLAB, C++, Python).
- Experience with Linux operating systems.
- Experience working/integrating RF transceivers with FPGA-based systems.
- Experience working with high-speed ADCs and DACs.
- TS clearance with SSBI preferred but not required.
