Job Summary

Sun River Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Support Specialist to join our team in Monticello, NY. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete the rooming process and take vital signs, vision, and/or hearing tests, record patient data in electronic medical records.
  • Perform in-house labs, quality control, and maintenance of equipment according to organizational protocols.
  • Draw blood and collect other specimens as directed by providers and process accordingly.
  • Conduct routine tests in areas such as serology, hematology, chemistry, histology, and cytology using standard techniques and equipment.
  • Collect specimens for outside labs and prepare exam rooms and equipment for patient examinations.
  • Assist and chaperone during patient examinations and treatment, and maintain a clean and organized clinical area.
  • Perform basic clerical work, answer phones, and communicate with nursing staff as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
