Job Summary

The YMCA of South Florida is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fitness Instructor to lead group fitness classes and provide exceptional customer service to our members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach engaging and challenging group fitness classes that cater to diverse age groups and fitness levels.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of wellness trends and principles to provide effective information and support to members.
  • Build strong relationships with members and program participants, promoting a sense of community and connection within the YMCA.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive class environment, modifying exercises to accommodate participants' needs and abilities.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and utilize the Group Ex Pro app or desktop website to track participant engagement.
  • Participate in staff development and training to enhance skills and knowledge in group fitness instruction and customer service.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; 2+ years of related fitness experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals of diverse backgrounds and ages.
  • Bilingualism in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • CPR Certification and National Certification from a recognized organization (e.g., ASFA, AFAA, ACSM, ACE, ISSA, NETA, or AFPA) are required within 30 days of hire.
