Maintenance Technician 3 Plant

As a Maintenance Technician 3 Plant, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining and repairing complex equipment, ensuring maximum production rates and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Troubleshooting and repairing machinery and controls, including extruders, corrugators, and downstream equipment.
- Maintaining and building job skills through company training programs.
- Contacting suppliers to order replacement parts and control components as needed.
- Contributing to the effective operation of our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Responding to machine problems and collaborating with Electrical Engineering as needed.
- Supporting Daily Management directives and initiatives.
- Developing and implementing Continuous Improvement projects to enhance production efficiency and safety.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Proficiency in using electrical test equipment, including voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters.
- Understanding of basic machine function and sequence of operations.
- Proficiency in reading electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of NEC, UL508A, and NFPA 79 codes.
- Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
- Arc Flash and PPE requirements.
- Advanced industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic skills, including troubleshooting.
- Strong leadership ability, with time management and task prioritization skills.
- Proficiency in electrical formulas and mechanical math.
- Knowledge of 3-phase industrial wiring and power distribution.
- AC and DC drive/motor PMs, wiring, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Troubleshooting PLC I/O and networking.
- Motion training with servo drives and motors.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and communicate to other plant personnel and company resources.
Education and Experience
You'll need:
- A high school/vocational school diploma or equivalent.
- Technician-level electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills.
- Basic PLC and drive training.
Preferred Experience
Plus 5 years of industrial maintenance, electrical systems, and controls experience, with plastic process knowledge.
Physical Requirements
This role requires:
- Lifting and moving heavy items, requiring the ability to lift 50 pounds to a height of 6 feet.
- Standing and being mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hours.
- Working in temperature extremes.
- Handling materials daily, requiring the ability to use hands, arms, and legs to physically handle and transport finished goods.
- A full range of body motion, including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting, and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary of $37.50/hour, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, company-paid life and AD&D insurance, short-term and long-term disability programs, profit-sharing plan (401k), paid holidays/vacation days, bereavement pay, and jury duty/military leave.
