The Lead Facility Strategist is essential to the daily functions, long-term planning, and financial management within Property and Facilities Management.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development and Management:
In collaboration with the Director, formulates a Comprehensive Master Plan for physical facilities over extended periods (10 years, 6 years, 2 years) that identifies significant land uses, building locations, space distributions, utility placements, flood management, transportation, recreational areas, and community impact.
Creates project programs that delineate requirements and anticipated outcomes for new construction and renovation projects.
Project Development:
Develops project specifications, constraints, alternatives, opportunity assessments, and relevant analyses. Participates in client and stakeholder meetings, site evaluations, stakeholder interviews, charrettes, and ongoing reviews.
Project Administration:
Coordinates facility installations and relocations with various sections and departments within the organization.
Technical Expertise:
Conducts intricate drafting and graphic design; prepares maps and conceptual illustrations. Designs and produces brochures, marketing materials, and construction project plans. Develops presentations for University Leadership and external visitors regarding construction initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Urban Planning, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related fields.
Experience:
Minimum of six years of planning experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Planning, Urban Planning, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related fields. Professional experience in an academic health center, university, or large healthcare or research organization. Registration as an Architect (RA) is preferred.
About the Department:
The Office of Property and Facilities Management, under the guidance of the Assistant Vice Chancellor, oversees the planning and administration of all property and facility operations and maintenance for LSU Health Sciences Center – New Orleans. This office manages the planning of space and property, capital budgeting, construction management, and building management, which includes renovations, maintenance, and repair of University facilities, as well as the provision of utilities, grounds care, custodial services, waste management, recycling, and other essential services.
