Thank you for considering the OnTrack Nursing Assistant Training Program with Fairview Health Services. Are you eager to embark on a fulfilling career in healthcare as a Nursing Assistant? This program offers a distinctive opportunity to earn your CNA certification while gaining employment as a Nursing Assistant within our esteemed organization.
We are pleased to cover the expenses for the CNA course, state NA examination, and provide you with compensation during your participation in the 75-hour hybrid CNA training program.
The Nursing Assistant training consists of both online and in-person components, facilitated by LeadingAge MN-OnTrack CNA training, powered by Edu Care. While the theoretical portion is conducted online, our dedicated NA educator will support your learning through a comprehensive hybrid approach.
The program culminates in hands-on CNA skills training at a designated hospital site where you aspire to work. Candidates selected for this CNA training and employment opportunity are expected to adhere to the course schedule and successfully complete Fairview Health Services' nursing assistant training.
Commitment During the OnTrack Nursing Assistant Program:
Participants must be available Monday through Friday, committing to 40 hours per week throughout the duration of the program.
Compensation is set at $18.00 per hour.
Clinical Training Locations:
Clinical training will occur in the hospital department of your preference. In-person skills assessments will be conducted at designated facilities.
Upon successful completion of the OnTrack Nursing Assistant Program:
Compensation will align with the current Nursing Assistant wage within the hospital unit. Following the successful completion of the CNA course, you will transition immediately into a Nursing Assistant role within the Fairview Health Services system.
Specific details regarding your CNA job location, shifts, and hours will be discussed during the initial recruitment interview and final job offer. Various shift options are available, including:
- Day
- Evening
- Night
- Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Holiday rotation
Benefit eligibility begins at 48 hours per pay period, which includes medical, dental, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, retirement options, and more. Candidates must be willing to commit to a minimum of one year of employment with Fairview Health Services following the start date.
Responsibilities:
Duties include:
- Assisting patients according to their individualized care plans with personal care tasks such as bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, and responding to call lights.
- Under the supervision of a nurse, performing glucose monitoring, medication administration, temperature checks, and blood pressure assessments.
- Observing patients and clearly reporting their status to the appropriate staff.
- Documenting patient status in the electronic medical record system.
- Maintaining order and cleanliness in patient rooms and work areas, reporting any malfunctioning equipment to maintenance, and answering phones promptly.
- Assisting with lifting and transferring patients, utilizing mechanical lifts as necessary.
To be eligible, applicants must complete all classes and curriculum requirements.
Qualifications:
- Must be available for a full-time commitment (Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week) during the OnTrack program.
- Must accept a Nursing Assistant position at one of Fairview Health Services' hospitals.
- Successful completion of Fairview Health Services' Nursing Assistant Course is required.
- Proficiency in computer usage is essential for completing online coursework and utilizing educational software.
- Access to a computer outside of scheduled class times is necessary for curriculum, studying, and additional work.
- A commitment to at least one year of employment with Fairview Health Services is required.
- Current employees of Ebenezer or Fairview must have a satisfactory performance record and have been in their current position for a minimum of six months.
- Candidates must obtain BLS certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association prior to the start of the OnTrack program.
To be considered, applicants must attend and successfully complete all classes and curriculum.
