**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer to join our team at DOWL. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing engineering calculations, coordinating with government agencies and clients, and managing budgets and schedules.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Perform engineering calculations in support of civil engineering design projects.
  • Coordinate AutoCAD and/or Microstation drafting requirements in support of transportation engineering design projects.
  • Coordinate with government agencies, client staff, and other professionals to obtain design information and approvals.
  • Manage budgets and schedules.
  • Prepare and route project-related correspondence and record keeping.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to construction sites to monitor quality and progress of the work.
  • Write and edit construction specifications and engineering reports.
  • Tabulate bid items and calculate construction bid quantities from plans and specifications. Estimate construction costs.
  • Consistently exercise discretion and judgment in all work tasks.
  • Other engineering-related duties as assigned.

**Requirements**

  • B.S. degree from an ABET-accredited civil engineering or related program.
  • At least 8 years of experience in transportation and/or water engineering.
  • Currently hold a valid Arizona PE License.
  • Between 5-10 projects completed in Arizona.
  • Must currently reside in Arizona (greater Phoenix area).

**Preferred Qualifications**

  • Between 3-5 projects completed directly for a municipality.
  • Knowledge and understanding of multiple municipalities in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
  • Strong background in municipal: transportation, water/sewer, or drainage.
  • Some work on public projects, not all for development.
  • Active in the community, ASCE, APWA.
