  • Assisting with all aspects of catering, room service, and special events.
  • Taking and delivering food and beverage orders to residents and guests in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in the work area by washing pots, pans, and utensils used in meal preparation.
  • Clearing, sanitizing, and setting tables, as well as managing waste disposal and cleaning trash containers.
  • Ensuring dining areas are tidy by sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors after meals and events.
  • Understanding individual resident dining preferences and needs.
  • Contributing to the management of food costs where applicable.
  • Following recipes and understanding food labels.
  • Safely operating and maintaining kitchen equipment.
  • Effectively communicating menu options and dining information to residents.
  • Ensuring table settings align with Cedarhurst's dining standards.
  • Staying informed about food safety regulations and adhering to all guidelines.
  • Upholding safety standards for infection control as per Cedarhurst policies.
  • Utilizing basic math skills for practical applications in the kitchen.
  • Facilitating effective communication between staff and residents' families regarding care and wellbeing.
  • Collaborating with team members and following management directives while demonstrating initiative in conflict resolution.
  • Meeting the physical demands of the role, which may include standing, lifting, and moving items up to 50 pounds independently, and up to 200 pounds with assistance.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

To qualify for the Dining Server position, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Applicable state or county licensure preferred.
  • CPR or BLS certification preferred.
