Job Title: Instructional Aide 1:1

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructional Aide 1:1 to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will provide individualized supervision and instruction to assigned students, working closely with classroom teachers to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist classroom teachers in creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere that fosters high expectations for student learning.
  • Implement on-site and community-based curriculum instruction and behavioral intervention strategies tailored to each student's needs.
  • Provide individualized instruction and monitoring during lessons, utilizing evidence-based strategies to support student learning and progress.
  • Encourage and monitor student progress, communicating regularly with classroom teachers and parents to ensure consistency and support.
  • Manage student behavior, upholding ChanceLight's philosophy and policies, and collaborating with classroom teachers to ensure a consistent approach.
  • Support students with academic issues, providing encouragement and guidance to help them develop essential life skills.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of student behavior, reporting observations to relevant staff and making recommendations as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a basic skills test.
  • Associate degree or higher in education or a related field preferred.
  • Licensed as a paraprofessional, paraeducator, or teaching assistant, or have the ability to obtain.
  • Prior experience working with children, preferably in alternative or special education settings.
  • Ability to think critically and act quickly in emergency situations, making independent decisions when necessary.
