POSITION SUMMARY
This is an entry-level management role dedicated to assisting with the daily operations of Rooms Management, encompassing areas such as Housekeeping, Recreation, and Guest Services.
The position plays a crucial role in collaborating with team members to facilitate guest check-in and check-out processes while upholding the property’s cleanliness standards. The goal is to ensure both guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to the operational budget.CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED; 3 years of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or a related field.
- 2-year degree from an accredited institution in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related discipline; 1 year of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or a related field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assisting in Rooms Operations Management
- Oversees the opening and closing of Front Desk shifts and Housekeeping, ensuring the completion of assigned tasks and checklists.
- Analyzes critical information from room operations reports.
- Familiarizes with the functions of Recreation, Laundry, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, Front Desk, and Guest Services.
- Operates departmental equipment as required and reports any malfunctions.
- Ensures staff have the necessary supplies and uniforms.
- Understands night audit procedures and utilizes reports effectively.
- Complies with loss prevention policies and procedures.
- Communicates performance expectations to employees based on their job descriptions.
- Addressees employee inquiries and concerns.
- Schedules staff according to business needs and monitors attendance.
Contributing to Budget Management
- Supervises same-day selling procedures to optimize room revenue and occupancy.
- Verifies room rates to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Utilizes budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports to assist in managing Room Operations.
- Participates in managing departmental expenses to meet or exceed budget goals.
- Understands the impact of Room Operations on overall financial objectives.
Enhancing the Guest Experience
- Assists in investigating employee and guest incidents.
- Utilizes a guest information tracking system to support a successful guest recognition program.
- Sets a positive standard for guest relations.
- Engages with guests to gather feedback on service quality and product standards; effectively addresses guest issues and complaints, seeking supervisor assistance when necessary.
- Assists in reviewing guest feedback and satisfaction metrics with team members.
