Position Summary
This role is essential for the seamless transfer of products and raw materials within the Marination Plant, ensuring continuous process flow while prioritizing safety and compliance with company policies.
Reporting Structure
Reports to: Lead Operator and Production Supervisor
Internal Collaborations: Plant Manager, Production Supervisors, R&D, Quality Assurance, and other production staff, Support I & II, and HACCP personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that the vat or hopper for raw materials is consistently aligned with the production flow, preventing any interruptions unless transitioning to a new product.
- Oversee that all products are adequately iced, wrapped, and labeled for storage or transfer to subsequent processing departments.
- Weigh all produced items and accurately document or communicate weight details to the lead operator.
- Maintain organization and appropriate placement of equipment and materials during regular operations and during product transitions.
- Communicate effectively with the lead operator to understand the production schedule and strategize for product changeovers to minimize downtime.
- Adhere to safety protocols by wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE) and following all safety regulations.
- Follow established safety procedures when operating pallet jacks and other industrial machinery.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated dexterity and manual skills.
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds consistently.
- Basic technical proficiency in operating equipment.
- Capability to follow instructions accurately.
- Willingness to work in cold environments for extended periods.
Experience Requirements
Prior experience with motorized pallet jacks is essential. Candidates should have a minimum of three months of work experience with a single employer within the last year.
Physical Demands
This position requires standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching. Occasional assisted lifting of up to 75 lbs and the ability to push or pull loads up to 1000 lbs using a pallet jack is necessary. The work environment may vary from cold and damp to hot and humid, with potentially slippery surfaces. Candidates should be prepared for prolonged standing and exposure to temperatures ranging from the mid-30s to mid-40s Fahrenheit, along with high noise levels.
