Job Objective

Oversee a local Facilities team within a multi-site organization, delivering strategic planning, operational leadership, and technical expertise across various infrastructure, equipment, and building disciplines at multiple locations. Key areas of focus may include:

  • Building structure (walls, flooring, ceilings, roofing, siding, windows, doors)
  • Space organization and standard interior design (layout, furniture, finish/material selections)
  • Site and grounds management (landscaping, snow removal)
  • Cleaning services
  • Mechanical utilities (facility water, compressed air, HVAC/exhaust, natural gas, thermal oxidizer, boiler, sewer, fuel, fire suppression, and facility management systems)
  • Electrical utilities (power supply and distribution, lighting, fire detection and alarm)
  • Electromechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC/refrigeration, digital control, PLCs, etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Oversight: Organize and manage necessary contracted services, ensuring compliance with organizational targets, including health and safety, environmental standards, quality, cost, schedule, and confidentiality. Supervise work to guarantee adherence to contract documents, codes, regulations, industry standards, and Honda's benchmarks.
  • Client Relations: Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries and concerns, ensuring optimal customer service and resolution of needs within the framework of business operations.
  • Financial Management: Develop and maintain budgets for capital investments and operational expenses related to facility assets and contracted services. Responsibilities include budget formulation, expenditure tracking, trend analysis, and adjustments to meet business requirements.
  • Strategic Planning: Assess, implement, and establish strategic direction based on business objectives, including setting measurable performance goals. Regularly evaluate operational progress and provide feedback.
  • Operational Support: Leverage technical knowledge in building management, project oversight, analytical decision-making, risk assessment, and troubleshooting to support facilities operations across multiple locations, ensuring organizational metrics are met or exceeded.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise daily personnel activities, including workload distribution, schedule management, and ensuring timely output. Support the development of performance goals aligned with business plans and individual growth objectives, providing regular feedback on performance.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred certifications include:
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or equivalent.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) certification.
  • Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) certification.

Work Environment

  • Office, vehicle workshop, mechanical/electrical equipment room, and vehicle testing environments.
  • Willingness to travel for equipment verification, departmental reviews, and strategic planning events.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary to complete tasks.
  • Availability to work weekends/shutdowns to manage projects and address operational needs.
