Job Summary

The Echocardiogram Imaging Specialist plays a critical role in our diagnostic imaging department, utilizing advanced ultrasound technology to visualize internal cardiac structures and obtain measurements of cardiac valves, ventricles, and left atrium. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to ensure accurate and timely results.

Responsibilities

  • Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality images of cardiac structures and blood flow
  • Assist physicians with complex ultrasound procedures, including electrocardiograms and other diagnostic tests
  • Expand the scope of examination according to any abnormalities observed, ensuring comprehensive patient care
  • Obtain patient information from medical records, charts, and physician orders
  • Select and calibrate equipment for optimal visuals, maintaining accurate records of procedures performed
  • Send reports to requesting physicians and archive patient examinations
  • Ensure all equipment is calibrated correctly on a monthly basis

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of ultrasound experience in echocardiography required
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing; bilingual preferred
  • ARDCS or CCI certification required and current BCLS certification
  • Echo/Doppler interpretive skills essential
  • Strong background in electrocardiography and cardiac special procedures, as well as knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology
  • Ability to function in an emergency situation
  • Experience/knowledge of Microsoft Office required
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills required
