Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons L.L.P. is currently seeking a full-time Litigation Administrative Assistant to provide essential support to our litigation team. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Deliver comprehensive administrative assistance to litigation attorneys in the legal field.
  • Support the preparation for hearings, trials, mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and meetings within a dynamic and high-volume litigation environment.
  • Organize, maintain, and manage both electronic and physical client files efficiently.
  • Familiarity with state and federal litigation timelines, including docket and calendar management.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information.
  • Experience with document management systems, preferably iManage.
  • Proficient in e-filing procedures for State and Federal courts.
  • Assist in coordinating travel arrangements and processing expense reimbursements.
  • Manage attorney calendars effectively.
  • Initiate new client/matter files and conduct conflict checks.
  • Handle check requests and tracking diligently.
  • Support timekeeping processes.
  • Exhibit superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Manage multiple tasks concurrently with efficiency.
  • Be available for occasional overtime as required.
  • Adhere to firm policies and procedures as outlined in the Firm Handbooks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of recent litigation experience within a law firm, preferably in insurance defense.
  • Advanced understanding of the litigation process and procedural rules, along with excellent secretarial, grammar, and proofreading skills.
  • High proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment competently.
  • Capability to transform constructive feedback into effective practices for future reference.
  • Adaptability to change and new technologies.
  • Professional and effective communication skills with colleagues, clients, courts, and opposing counsel, with a proactive approach to clarifying ambiguities.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret attorney correspondence.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Typing speed of 65+ words per minute.
