Job Title: School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Annapolis, MD
Job Type: Contract
Hours:Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Position Overview: The School RBT will work closely with students who exhibit challenging behaviors and require individualized support. Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or other designated supervisor, the RBT will implement behavior intervention plans, collect data, and collaborate with teachers and parents to enhance the educational experience for students with behavioral and developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Behavior Intervention: Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and strategies as developed by the BCBA or supervisor to address challenging behaviors and promote positive behavioral changes.
- Data Collection: Accurately collect and record data on student behavior and progress, including using data collection tools and methods as specified by the BCBA.
- Student Support: Provide one-on-one support to students, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment. Assist with daily activities and transitions, and implement strategies to help students improve social and academic skills.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, school staff, and parents to ensure consistency in behavior management and support. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans.
- Training and Professional Development: Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in behavior analysis and support.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of behavior interventions, student progress, and any incidents or concerns. Prepare reports as needed for review by the BCBA and other school personnel.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) is required.
- Experience: Previous experience working with students with behavioral and developmental needs, preferably in an educational or clinical setting.
- Skills: Strong understanding of behavior analysis principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Proficiency in data collection and analysis.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is preferred.
