Job Description

The Green Infrastructure Assistant will play a critical role in supporting our Greening the Gateway Cities Program, working closely with local communities, landowners, and stakeholders to develop and implement green infrastructure projects that benefit both people and the environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing green infrastructure projects, including tree planting, rain gardens, and other green space initiatives
  • Collaborate with local governments, community groups, and landowners to identify and prioritize green infrastructure projects
  • Conduct site assessments and provide technical advice on green infrastructure design, installation, and maintenance
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders, landowners, and government officials

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, urban planning, civil engineering, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of experience in green infrastructure, urban forestry, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of green infrastructure principles, practices, and regulations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in environmental science, urban planning, civil engineering, or a related field
  • Professional certification in green infrastructure or a related field
  • Experience with GIS mapping and spatial analysis
