Job Title: Federal Work Study - Library

Guilford Technical Community College is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our library team as a Federal Work Study student assistant.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a student who is enthusiastic about working in a library setting and providing excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff. As a Federal Work Study student assistant, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, develop your skills, and contribute to the success of our library.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist library staff with daily tasks, such as shelving books, answering phones, and providing research assistance to students and faculty.
  • Help with inventory, book check-outs, and other library-related tasks.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff, responding to their questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, using your initiative and problem-solving skills to complete tasks and projects.

Requirements:

  • Must be a currently enrolled GTCC student and eligible for Work Study via the financial aid department.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office programs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position, up to 20 hours per week, with a pay rate of $13.00 per hour. The work schedule will be determined in consultation with the library supervisor.
