Circulation Clerk

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Circulation Clerk to join our team at the Greene County Public Library. As a key member of our circulation team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patrons, processing library materials, and maintaining a clean and organized library environment.

• Process library materials, including checking out and checking in books, DVDs, and other materials
• Collect fines and charges for lost or damaged items
• Register borrowers and handle circulation questions from patrons
• Sort and shelve materials, including book drops and deliveries
• Handle incomplete or damaged items and process returns
• Oversee the circulation hold shelf and process holds
• Perform opening and closing procedures, including handling fine money
• Process new materials, donations, and withdrawn materials
• Repair and repack damaged items
• Assist patrons in finding books and materials

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills and ability to input information into an automated system
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods
