Job Summary

The Wire Harness Assembler is a critical role in the production of specialized aerospace equipment. This position requires attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working in a time-sensitive shop environment. The successful candidate will assemble wire harnesses and control panels, conduct functional and continuity tests, and perform visual and dimensional inspections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble cable harnesses, connectors, and wire terminations using drawings and specification sheets.
  • Route, wire, and assemble electronic components using wire layout boards.
  • Perform numerous hand assembly operations based on detailed instructions.
  • Conduct functional and continuity tests of wire harnesses and cable assemblies using friendly test fixtures.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process assemblies and finished products.
Requirements
  • Able to read, understand, and follow wire harness assembly instructions.
  • Ability to recognize and gather appropriate materials and tooling necessary to perform work in an organized manner.
  • Proficient in the operation of various hand and semi-automatic equipment such as crimp presses, wire twisters, and wire strippers.
  • Use of a solder iron to solder wires to switches or connectors.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Attention to detail and excellent hand dexterity.
  • Proficient in basic math skills.
  • Possesses good communication skills and a great attitude.
  • Some basic computer skills required.
Education and Experience
  • 3-5 years of previous assembly/production experience required.
  • Previous wire harness assembly experience highly preferred.

  • Ability to stand while working standard shifts of 8-10 hours in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lifting Requirements: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to distinguish colored wires for accurate assembly purposes.
  • Ability to handle small parts.
  • Pull/push motion up to 10lbs frequently.
