Job Summary

The Ruhlin Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Foreman-Highway Lighting to join its Civil Division/Highway Lighting department. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on highway lighting and traffic control signalization projects in Northeast Ohio and Columbus Ohio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a crew of employees on highway lighting and/or traffic control signalization jobsites.
  • Ensure employees adhere to Company safety policies and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Conduct job hazard analysis (JHA), toolbox talks, and safety inspections.
  • Train and mentor employees to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Work with the Superintendent and Field Operations Manager to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Manage paperwork, data entry, and document management to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Track work hours, ensure employees are paid properly, and assign phase codes for work hours in HCSS.
  • Report quantities and maintain a work environment free of harassment, intimidation, or coercion.
Requirements
  • Previous experience installing light poles and foundations, conduit systems, lighting power, and signalization devices.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, regulations, machinery, tools, and equipment used in highway lighting and traffic control signalization construction projects.
  • OSHA 30 certification and IMSA Traffic Signal Technician certification preferred.
  • Good time management, organizational, problem analysis, and problem resolution skills.
  • Team-focused mindset to build strong working relationships and good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively supervise employees, read plan drawings, and understand specifications.
  • Ability and willingness to learn various types of technology, including HCSS/Heavy Job, iPhone, and iPad.
