Southern West Virginia Community & Technical College is seeking dedicated educators who are passionate about fostering student success in the nursing field.


Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will:

  • Employ diverse technologies for both in-person and remote instruction.
  • Fulfill all obligations associated with a full-time faculty role, including committee participation and student advising.

  • Develop and revise curricula, including course outlines and syllabi, in alignment with institutional and industry standards.

Work Schedule:
37.5 hours per week, including a combination of lectures, clinical practice, laboratory sessions, and office hours. Teaching assignments may include weekends, evenings, and off-campus courses.

Expectations:

Faculty members are expected to:

  • Lead a teaching load of 30 credit hours annually, focusing on teaching, assessment, and institutional service.
  • Create experiential learning opportunities and assessment methods.
  • Mentor students and new faculty members.
  • Design and deliver curriculum for both synchronous and asynchronous learning environments.
  • Engage in community education and workforce initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student services and retention strategies.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess:

  • A Master's Degree in Nursing is preferred, or a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with enrollment in a graduate program within one year of hire.
  • A current, unencumbered registered nurse license in West Virginia or the ability to obtain one.
  • Prior teaching experience in higher education is advantageous.
  • Experience in direct patient care across various nursing specialties.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, along with proficiency in technology.
