The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) is expected to possess a solid foundation in both software development and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in programming languages, data structures, and algorithms to pinpoint and rectify code issues while assisting in the creation of automated testing frameworks, integrating automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline, and enhancing the overall testability of our software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to comprehend software features, troubleshoot code, automate repetitive tasks, and implement new tools and frameworks to optimize the quality assurance process.
  • Work alongside your Agile team to understand customer usage patterns and develop test plans and cases that accurately reflect real-world scenarios.
  • Design, automate, and execute API, functional, and non-functional test cases.
  • Document, log, and monitor test outcomes, including defects identified during all testing phases, and troubleshoot any errors or failures.
  • Maintain transparency with stakeholders by presenting test artifacts and results for evaluation.
  • Conduct exploratory and manual testing as required to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to fellow engineers in test design and coding best practices through code reviews and collaborative programming.
  • Coordinate with leadership and all stakeholders involved in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure adequate test coverage for code deployment events.
  • Produce a significant volume of consistent, high-quality automation code, ensuring extensive unit, API, and regression test coverage.
Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field, complemented by relevant work experience.

5+ years of experience as an SDET, demonstrating strong coding abilities and a thorough understanding of software quality principles.

5+ years of experience in creating, executing, and troubleshooting automation scripts for testing web applications, microservices, and Java applications using open-source testing tools such as Cypress and/or Playwright.

3+ years of programming experience in JavaScript and at least one additional modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C# or Swift), which will be assessed during a coding interview.

Experience in creating, modifying, and maintaining various Automation Framework Models, including Modular, Keyword-Driven, Data-Driven, or Hybrid.

Proven ability to solve complex problems while articulating solutions in straightforward terms.

Self-driven, capable of working independently, and managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

Experience with DevOps practices, including the installation, configuration, and integration of automation scripts within Continuous Integration (CI) tools.

Familiarity with version control systems.

Experience in implementing quality improvement initiatives and Agile software development methodologies.

Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills that foster positive outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • AWS Cloud Certification or similar cloud vendor certification.
  • Experience with stress, performance, and load testing using tools like jMeter or k6.
  • Experience in mobile application testing.
  • Ability to query SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience in testing Salesforce applications.
