About the Role

CAMBA is seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our Food and Nutrition Services team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing inclusive and culturally mindful food services to individuals living with HIV/AIDS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients and ensure confidentiality.
  • Practice Universal Precautions and comply with all relevant security and privacy policies.
  • Persuade clients to schedule initial appointments and promote access to HIV primary care.
  • Review documentation and assist clients in completing program applications and forms.
  • Consult and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to determine causes of client problems and effect solutions.
  • Assist in coordinating logistics for congregate meals, pantry, and food vouchers.
  • Prepare healthy meals based on clients' individual nutritional needs.
  • Assist clients in altering attitudes and behaviors that cause or aggravate problems.
  • Identify and locate community resources for clients and make referrals to appropriate services.
  • Follow up with clients and referral organizations regarding client contact and progress.
  • Lead nutritional education group sessions to enhance social development and psychological education.
  • Reach out and market the program to the community to recruit clients.
  • Monitor clients' progress toward their goals and document via progress notes.
  • Provide required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
  • Follow up with clients for a period after successful completion of their primary goals to assure client stability.
  • Recommend closing of cases in which clients have achieved primary goals and maintained stability, or have not demonstrated a willingness to participate in the process, or have become ineligible for services.
  • Input client data and client progress information into automated database.
  • May act as client liaison/client advocate with outside organizations regarding education, healthcare, housing, legal issues, etc.
Requirements
  • Registered Dietitian (RD), or a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist (CDN), or Registered Dietitian Eligible (RDE) and experience with similar services.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Knowledge about, understanding of, and ability to work closely with, persons with HIV/AIDS and related issues.
