Email Marketing Specialist

The Email Marketing Specialist plays a key role in driving AOPA's outreach, membership growth, and communication efforts through the development, execution, and optimization of email marketing campaigns. The specialist works closely with internal teams to craft targeted, high-quality email content that engages AOPA's members, enhances the organization's brand presence, and supports its overall marketing objectives.

The incumbent is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of email campaigns - from concept and design to deployment and analysis - leveraging their keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of email marketing best practices to ensure all communications are delivered on time, are error-free, and achieve maximum impact. This position is ideal for someone who is highly motivated, driven to succeed, excels in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and is passionate about leveraging email as a strategic tool to further AOPA's mission.

Key Responsibilities:

- Participate in the design, planning, and implementation of email marketing campaigns.

- Manage the scheduling, routing, and approval process for all emails to ensure timely delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related discipline; or 2-4 years proven work experience in an equivalent position.

- Proficiency in marketing automation technology.

- Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.

- Strong project management skills.

- An ability to work under tight deadlines.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members.

- Experience with analytical and database tools.

- Familiarity with standard marketing concepts, practices, and procedures within digital marketing and marketing communications.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

- Experience with Wrike Management system.

Working Conditions:

- This position works in an office setting.

- Typical working hours are 8:30 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with an hour lunch break.

- Generally, a climate-controlled environment with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions, if supporting aviation-related events.

- This position does not require travel.

Physical Demands:

- The physical demands of the Email Marketing Specialist position are typical of a standard office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be required to:

- Sit for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings.

- Use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.

- Communicate effectively via email, phone, and in-person, which requires clear speech, hearing, and vision.

- Occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 15 pounds, such as boxes of materials or equipment.

- Occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms during the course of normal office activities.

This role may involve extended periods of concentration and focus, particularly when managing email campaigns or analyzing data. Additional Position Details:

- This position works out of the Frederick, MD location and is not eligible for remote status.

- The salary range for this position is: $45,000 - $50,000 depending on experience.
