Email Marketing Specialist

The Email Marketing Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving AOPA's outreach and communication efforts through the development, execution, and optimization of email marketing campaigns. This position requires a strong understanding of marketing automation technology and the ability to craft targeted, high-quality email content that engages members and enhances the organization's brand presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the design, planning, and implementation of email marketing campaigns.
- Manage the scheduling, routing, and approval process for all emails to ensure timely delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Proofread and edit email content for clarity, grammar, spelling, and overall messaging accuracy.
- Conduct thorough quality assurance checks to ensure all emails meet brand standards and are mobile-friendly.
- Upgrade email templates using advanced features such as graphics, personalization, and automation to enhance user engagement.
- Continuously review and refine email design and messaging to improve click-through rates and minimize unsubscribes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related discipline; or 24 years proven work experience in an equivalent position.
- Proficiency in marketing automation technology.
- Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- An ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members.
- Experience with analytical and database tools.
- Familiarity with standard marketing concepts, practices, and procedures within digital marketing and marketing communications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Experience with Wrike Management system.
Working Conditions:
- This position works in an office setting.
- Typical working hours are 8:30 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with an hour lunch break.
- Generally, a climate-controlled environment with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions, if supporting aviation-related events.
- This position does not require travel.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands of the Email Marketing Specialist position are typical of a standard office environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be required to:
- Sit for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings.
- Use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Communicate effectively via email, phone, and in-person, which requires clear speech, hearing, and vision.
- Occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 15 pounds, such as boxes of materials or equipment.
- Occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms during the course of normal office activities.
Additional Position Details:
This position works out of the Frederick, MD location and is not eligible for remote status.
The salary range for this position is: $45,000 - $50,000 depending on experience.
