Overview

St. David's Healthcare at Home is seeking a detail-oriented, compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Home Health team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in the comfort of patients' homes.

About the Role

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will assist the Physical Therapist in the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with physical disabilities or impairments. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with patient assessments: Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' physical abilities, identifying areas of improvement, and developing individualized treatment plans.
  • Providing therapy services: Delivering physical therapy interventions, such as exercises, stretches, and modalities, to help patients achieve their goals and improve their functional ability.
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team: Working closely with the Physical Therapist, other healthcare professionals, and patients' families to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assistant studies: From an accredited program.
  • Certifications and licenses: Must be a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and certified in the state where you will be working.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Physical stamina: Ability to lift, bend, and move patients as needed.
