Job Title: Mental Health Counselor

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Counselor to join our team at Choctaw Staffing Solutions. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing behavioral health services to active duty Special Operations personnel, retired military members, and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement policies and conduct screenings, clinical counseling, and case management services to support the mental health and well-being of our clients.
  • Provide a spectrum of behavioral health interventions, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, and evidenced-based therapies to evaluate, diagnose, and treat psychological and neuropsychological disorders.
  • Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, and school districts as required to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate and current notes in electronic medical records and produce reports of evaluation and/or treatment.
  • Participate in military-specific training and activities, such as security clearances, use of DoD or service-specific clinical practice guidelines, pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress.
Requirements:
  • Possess a Master's degree in a relevant field, such as social work, counseling, or marriage and family therapy, from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE).
  • Hold a current, unrestricted clinical license to independently practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years of CURRENT experience in the independent practice of clinical social work, counseling, or marriage and family therapy in a mental health setting.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain either a Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) as certified by the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior military and/or SOF experience.
  • Experience working in a Government setting, such as DOD or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) MTF.
  • Prior experience in Substance Abuse/Disorder Treatment.
