Key Responsibilities:
As a Production Operator, you will be responsible for:
- Operating machinery and equipment essential for ethanol production and co-products.
- Loading and unloading all products received and shipped.
- Testing and monitoring the entire production process.
- Completing all tasks safely and efficiently in accordance with established policies and practices.
- Participating in training and skills assessments as required.
Work Schedule:
12-hour shifts (8 PM - 8 AM); 4 nights on, 4 nights off.
Essential Duties:
This position will require you to learn all areas of the plant quickly, including:
- Cook Area: Involves corn grinding through fermentation.
- DD&E Area: Encompasses distillation, dehydration, and evaporation.
- Energy Center: Includes the regenerative thermal oxidizer, boiler, and water treatment.
- Board Operation: Manages plant processes within set parameters using distributive control systems (DCS).
- Product Handling: Involves loading, testing, and ensuring quality standards.
Collaboration with all personnel across different areas is essential.
Quality Assurance:
Inspect incoming grain to ensure compliance with company standards and communicate with the QA/QC laboratory to implement quality control policies.
Logistics:
Manage the timely loading and unloading of ethanol and other products by railcar and truck, ensuring adherence to all regulations.
Maintenance:
Maintain operational equipment, perform inspections, and document results as per maintenance schedules.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, climb stairs and ladders, and work in various outdoor conditions.
Work Environment:
Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise levels, and chemicals used in the production process.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in process operations is preferred. A high school diploma or GED is required. Strong computer skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.
