Job Summary

At Haywood Regional Medical Center, we are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Obtain patient history and perform assessments via observation, interview, and examination.
Document patient care performed, assessments made, and orders given.
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies.

Additional Responsibilities

Perform preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and care.
Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions, including the use of prescriptive authority and referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
Provide counseling and education to patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health and wellness, treatment options, and community resources.
Provide care in the context of promoting age- and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision making, and the right to self-determination.

Requirements

Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire, AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required in Cardiology Practice only, AHA Pediatric Advances Life Support (PALS) required in Pediatric Practice only.
Licenses: Must have and maintain Nurse Practitioner licensure as Registered Nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
