Donation Attendant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Donation Attendant to join our team at The Salvation Army in Bakersfield, Ming. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to donors, maintaining a clean and organized donation area, and assisting with the sorting and processing of donated items.

• Maintain and clean up the donation area, including the trailer/pod, at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Assist donors with the receipt of donated items and provide a courteous and professional experience.
• Separate and sort donated materials into the proper containers and stack them as instructed by the supervisor.
• Assist with loading donations onto trucks as needed.
• Inform the supervisor of needed items prior to running out.
• Secure and lock the donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift.
• Be available for flexible scheduling purposes.

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and donors.
• Ability to read and write and understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects up to 75lbs. with or without assistance.
• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
