Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Donation Attendant to join our team at The Salvation Army in Bakersfield, Ming. As a key member of our donation center team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to donors, maintaining a clean and organized donation area, and ensuring a smooth donation process.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and clean up the donation area, including the trailer/pod, at the beginning and end of each shift
- Assist donors in the receipt of donated items and provide a receipt
- Separate and sort donated materials into the proper containers and stack them as instructed by the supervisor
- Assist with loading donations onto trucks as needed
- Inform the supervisor of needed items prior to running out
- Secure and lock the donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift
- Be available for flexible scheduling
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and donors
- Ability to read and write and understand and follow both written and verbal instructions
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects up to 75lbs. with or without assistance
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks
