Position Overview:
The Cashier plays a crucial role in providing excellent service by operating the cash register and processing customer payments. This position involves preparing and serving concession items, pouring beverages, and ensuring that food presentation meets our high standards. Consistent attendance in line with our attendance policy is essential.

Compensation:
This role offers an hourly wage ranging from $10 to $14, with eligibility for tips.

Venue Information:
PPL Center is a cutting-edge multipurpose arena located in downtown Allentown, PA, and serves as the home for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. With a seating capacity exceeding 10,000 for concerts and over 8,500 for professional hockey games, it stands as the largest events venue in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage cash register operations by accurately entering orders and completing transactions.
  • Maintain stock levels and communicate low inventory to the Concessions Stand Manager.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns effectively.
  • Ensure a clean and organized workspace, including proper disposal of waste and cleaning duties.
  • Serve beverages responsibly, including verifying guest identification for alcohol purchases.
  • Adhere to sanitation, health, and safety standards in all work areas.
  • Assist in the cleanup and breakdown of the concession area at the end of shifts.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or managers.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Preferred experience of three months or more in the food service industry.
  • Previous cash handling experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to learn cash handling procedures and operate a cash register.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude towards colleagues and guests.
  • Possession of a valid food handling certificate and alcohol service certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire).
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
