Job Title: Dispatch Specialist

At the Oregon Youth Authority, we are seeking a highly organized and dependable individual to join our team as a Dispatch Specialist at the MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility in Woodburn. As a key member of our staff, you will provide essential administrative support to our MacLaren Staffing, Dispatch, and Intake Office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain scheduling templates to ensure efficient staffing and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate daily schedules for direct care staff and support services, serving as the central hub for campus operations.
  • Manage the entry and confirmation of OYA warrants in the Law Enforcement Data System/National Crime Information Center (LEDS/NCIC) databases.
  • Support the intake process for new commits and parole violators.
  • Provide excellent written and oral communication skills, answering questions and providing information to the public in a friendly manner.
  • Adjust to shifting priorities and emerging issues, demonstrating a strong work ethic and dependability.
Requirements:
  • Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience, including records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data.
  • Associate degree in general office occupations and one year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • LEDs certification or ability to obtain it.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a tobacco-free environment and may involve daily face-to-face contact with adjudicated and convicted youth. The facility requires 24-hour a day/7-day per week staffing, and weekend/holiday work may be required. Periodic or frequent mandatory overtime may be required with minimal notice.
