Position Overview:

The Lead Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in managing and supervising various financial operations, including the preparation of financial statements, ledger reconciliations, and end-of-month closing processes. This position demands exceptional analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to guide and develop junior financial personnel.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct the financial ledger activities, encompassing journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing tasks.
  • Generate and scrutinize financial reports and statements, ensuring precision and adherence to GAAP and organizational policies.
  • Assist in formulating budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting and manage depreciation schedules.
  • Facilitate and support both internal and external audits, supplying necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations at the federal, state, and local levels by reviewing existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence, and advising management on necessary actions.
  • Guide and mentor junior financial staff, fostering professional growth and continuous improvement.
  • Engage in the creation and execution of financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to support business functions and meet financial goals.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or CMA certification is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive financial experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory capacity.
  • Experience in the agriculture sector is preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Famous, MS Nav, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with process enhancement and the implementation of financial systems is a plus.
