Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse, you will take full responsibility for providing care to hospice patients in an inpatient setting. You will be knowledgeable about hospice criteria, state and federal regulations, and the appropriate care for patients and families during end-of-life transitions.
- Deliver hands-on nursing care in the hospice inpatient environment, utilizing the nursing process to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Understand the criteria for hospice general inpatient, respite, and routine home care.
- Conduct and complete nursing assessments within the designated timeframe, based on the level of service.
- Document patient problems, goals, interventions, and responses to care accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Perform record reviews for recertifications as necessary.
- Initiate and coordinate the plan of care for hospice patients in the inpatient setting, adjusting as needed to meet patient and family objectives.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of one year of clinical experience is required.
- Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation.
