Job Summary

As a Nutrition Services Technician at Corewell Health, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care by performing a variety of routine tasks within the Nutrition Services Department. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain serving lines, including dishes, silverware, hot and cold food items, condiments, and other essentials.
  • Prepare and assemble cold food items, such as salads, desserts, and nourishments, ensuring proper storage, refrigeration, and dating.
  • Serve food as directed, replenishing items as needed, and disassemble and clean food stations after use.
  • Set up and operate the cash register station and cash handling equipment to ensure accurate payment collection.
  • Perform routine and heavy-duty cleaning tasks, including washing, scraping, scouring, and rinsing pots, pans, utensils, and equipment.
  • Load, operate, and unload the dishwasher, and check and store all clean equipment in an orderly fashion.
  • Transport refuse and other materials in large carts, ensuring the safety of self and others.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions through daily cleaning assignments, including sweeping, mopping, and operating the mechanical floor cleaner.
  • Set up and deliver food carts to patient and other food delivery areas, and retrieve carts for cleaning.
  • Strip patient and cafeteria trays and sort soiled equipment for cleaning.
  • Work assigned station on the tray line, assembling patient trays according to established standards and meeting dietary requirements.
  • Deliver trays to patients, verifying room numbers, bed numbers, birth dates, and patient names to ensure accurate delivery.
  • Routinely participate in quality monitoring activities, such as taking and recording food, refrigeration, and dish machine temperatures.

  • CRT-Work Permit - High School Student Employees
