Job Overview

Hirschbach Motor Lines is seeking a highly skilled CDL Training Program Manager to oversee the development, implementation, and management of our CDL training program. This role involves ensuring that all training activities align with regulatory requirements and industry standards while fostering a safe and efficient learning environment for trainees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Development: Design and update the CDL training curriculum to meet federal, state, and company standards.
  • Training Management: Oversee daily training operations, ensuring high-quality instruction and effective use of training resources.
  • Instructor Supervision: Recruit, train, and manage driving instructors. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
  • Leadership: Foster a growth-oriented environment, setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and supporting professional development to enhance team dynamics and driver organizational success.
  • Compliance: Ensure all training programs comply with DOT regulations and other relevant laws. Maintain accurate records of training, certifications, and compliance audits.
  • Safety Focus: Promote a culture of safety and professionalism among trainees and instructors. Implement safety training and protocols.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor trainee progress and performance, adjusting training methods as necessary to meet individual needs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with HR, safety, and operations teams to align training goals with organizational objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain relationships with industry partners, regulatory agencies, and community organizations to promote the training program.
  • Budget Management: Manage the training program budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in driver training, logistics, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations and CDL requirements.
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to develop training materials and instructional methodologies.
  • Proficient in using training software and technology.
