Overview

The Furniture Sales Lead plays a pivotal role in guiding the furniture team and enhancing sales performance. This position is accountable for the overall success of the furniture department, focusing on merchandising, presentation, and recovery standards, while also driving sales metrics. Collaborating closely with store management, the Furniture Sales Lead helps achieve operational goals and improve overall store performance.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the operational effectiveness of the furniture department, ensuring excellence in sales processes, training of sales associates, customer service, and merchandising standards.
  2. Provide clear guidance and mentorship to the furniture sales team on all aspects of the sales cycle, including product displays, new merchandise, competitive analysis, and customer transactions.
  3. Deliver performance feedback to store management regarding the sales team's achievements and areas for improvement.
  4. Assist customers in selecting and purchasing products, ensuring they are informed about delivery options and services.
  5. Manage the price hold procedures, conducting regular audits to maintain accuracy.
  6. Maintain accurate inventory levels within the furniture department, performing cycle counts to optimize sales and inventory turnover.
  7. Identify and address display needs promptly to ensure merchandising standards are met.
  8. Continuously seek to enhance the furniture department's sales performance while upholding presentation standards, signage, recovery, and cleanliness.
  9. Act as Manager on Duty as required, leading store associates and ensuring that all operational and customer service standards are upheld.
  10. Support recovery efforts throughout the store as necessary.

Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience is required. Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
  2. A minimum of one year of retail sales experience is preferred.
  3. Proven skills in furniture merchandising and sales are advantageous.
  4. Exceptional customer service and communication abilities are essential.
  5. Physical capability to lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 pounds is required, along with the ability to perform various physical tasks throughout the store.
  6. Availability to work a flexible schedule of at least 30 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays is necessary.
  7. Basic proficiency in English, mathematics, and computer skills is required.
