Position Overview:
Scratchboard Kitchen is on the lookout for a dedicated Pastry Cook who possesses a keen eye for detail, a strong desire to learn, and a commitment to our mission. The ideal candidate will be adept at following a prep list, thriving in a fast-paced kitchen environment, and effectively communicating with team members while producing high-quality pastries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to a prep list and execute tasks as directed by the Executive Chef or Sous Chefs, including the preparation of daily pastries and line prep.
- Demonstrate the ability to meticulously follow recipes and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain the highest standards of quality in all pastry production.
- Keep your workstation clean and organized at all times.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations consistently.
- Follow recipes and food standards established by the culinary team.
- Receive and act on constructive feedback.
- Exhibit a positive and proactive attitude.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of culinary techniques.
- A commitment to continuous improvement.
- Team-oriented mindset.
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $13 - $16/hour, commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: Health insurance, optional vision and dental coverage, daily family meal, and dining discounts.
Physical Requirements:
- This role involves visual acuity, auditory perception, verbal communication, reaching, and the ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The position requires standing, sitting, bending, and moving intermittently throughout the shift. These physical demands can be met with or without reasonable accommodations.
