As a Nordic Skiing Educator, your primary responsibility will be to guide our guests in mastering both classic and skate skiing techniques, ensuring they enjoy a remarkable experience in the snowy landscapes while fostering a passion for skiing.

Key Responsibilities:

Your duties will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering clear and effective instruction to students at various skill levels in accordance with recognized teaching standards.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to create groups based on shared interests and abilities.
  • Adhering to uniform standards as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Engaging in ongoing training and pursuing opportunities for professional growth.
  • Assessing guest experiences and providing constructive feedback to management.
  • Assisting with guest services beyond teaching, which may include snow maintenance, boot fitting, and operating the magic carpet.
  • Participating in all base area and mountain operations, including snow and waste management, as directed by supervisors.

Qualifications:

We seek candidates who:

  • Exhibit exceptional customer service skills.
  • Are available to work during peak seasons, including weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling.
  • Are at least sixteen (16) years of age at the time of employment.
  • Possess PSIA - AASI Certification, which is advantageous.
  • Can successfully complete a pre-employment background check.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base pay is determined by certifications, ranging from $17.50 to $22.00.
  • Hourly stipends for certifications and dual disciplines vary from $0.25 to $1.00.
  • Accreditation stipends range from $0.50 to $1.50 per hour.
  • Tenure-based stipends for employees with over one year of service can range from $0.50 to $2.50 per hour.
  • Product incentives are available, ranging from $0.75 to $8.00 per hour per student.
  • End-of-season loyalty bonus is 5% of gross wages.

This position does not include traditional benefits, but all employees may contribute to a retirement plan. Eligibility for a discretionary match requires working 1,000 hours within a calendar year, subject to a two-year vesting period. Employees accrue sick leave at a rate of one hour for every 40 hours worked, up to a maximum of 64 hours annually.
