Job Summary:

Soliant is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and support to students with special needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Create and implement personalized education plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Establish a Supportive Learning Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and growth.
  • Provide Differentiated Instruction: Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of each student, ensuring they receive the support they require to succeed.
  • Assess and Monitor Student Progress: Regularly assess and monitor student progress, documenting achievements and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues and Parents: Work closely with other teachers, specialists, and parents to ensure effective communication and coordination of services.
  • Utilize Instructional Techniques and Resources: Employ a range of instructional techniques, materials, and resources to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Assistive Technology and Adaptive Equipment: Incorporate assistive technology and adaptive equipment as needed to facilitate student participation and independence.
  • Social/Emotional Development and Behavior Management: Monitor and address students' social/emotional development, behavior management, and self-regulation skills.
  • Ongoing Feedback and Support: Provide ongoing feedback and support to students, celebrating their achievements and fostering a positive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Teaching Certification or Credential: Possess a valid teaching certification or credential in Special Education.
  • Experience Working with Young Children: Have experience working with young children with special needs.
  • Knowledge of Developmental Milestones: Possess knowledge of developmental milestones and best practices in early childhood special education.
  • IEPs and Collaboration: Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and the ability to develop and implement them effectively.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and support staff.
  • Patience, Empathy, and Passion: Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children with diverse learning needs.
  • Positive and Inclusive Classroom Environment: Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
